WABIAN – a bipedal humanoid from Waseda University

Japan · Humanoid

Around 1996, the bipedal humanoid WABIAN, roughly the size of an adult human, was created in Atsuo Takanishi's laboratory at Waseda University. It could walk dynamically forwards and backwards, carry a load and communicate with gestures, and it became the basis of the whole WABIAN series. [1][2][3]
